Announcing CLEAR Foundation's 2025 Year-End Match Campaign

November 4, 2025

Your year-end gift will make DOUBLE the impact thanks to The Hastings Family

CLEAR Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of our 2025 year-end fundraising campaign, with the Hastings Family generously serving as our Match Partner to advance progress toward a future without dementia.

From November 4 to December 31, all donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000, doubling your impact on leading-edge research for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.*

Your support during this campaign will double the impact in funding bold, high-impact studies that are uncovering new ways to detect, treat, and ultimately cure Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

The Hastings Family commitment to change

When Bob Hastings’ father, Jack, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in the early 1980s, few resources existed for caregivers like his mother, Vina, who cared for her husband for more than a decade. The experience would change Bob’s life forever, fuelling a lifelong mission to make things better for families like his own.

“I remember a day when my dad angrily said he didn’t reach a destination because someone must have moved the building,” Bob shares. “That’s how disorienting Alzheimer’s can be.”

A life long commitment to advancing dementia research

After witnessing the profound impact of Alzheimer’s disease on his parents, Bob became deeply committed to advancing dementia research and care. His dedication grew even stronger as he recognized how much more needed to be done.

“The only way we will make a difference for this disease is to fund research, and that takes money, time, and commitment, and I am committed.”

That commitment has shaped every part of Bob’s journey. In 2004, he raised $60,000 by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, a personal challenge that reflected his persistence and belief that progress against Alzheimer’s requires courage and endurance. In 2008, Bob and his wife Sue extended their impact through a bequest in their will to support research aimed at improving diagnosis, treatment, and care for those affected by dementia.

Looking ahead: Hope, research and resilience

Bob’s vision for the future is rooted in optimism and evidence.

“I believe we can make significant progress in the next ten years. With advancements in biomarkers and technologies like ‘lab-on-a-chip,’ research is moving faster than ever. We’re narrowing down new treatments to combat the changes caused by this disease.”

For Bob, research is about more than discovery; it’s about failing faster and learning quicker. “If you can fail quickly, you can spend money and focus on what’s working. “That’s how science moves forward. “I get asked all the time if we are making progress. Even though research takes time, there are tangible advances every year. We just need to keep moving the needle.”

Make 2X the impact this holiday season

The Hastings Family generosity is accelerating discoveries and inspiring others to give, to hope, and to believe in a future without Alzheimer’s disease.

When you give before December 31, your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar, fueling breakthrough research and bringing hope closer to home for families facing dementia.
